FEBRUARY MEETING MINUTES
James called the board meeting to order at 6:46 PM. Present were James Van Ornum, Barbara Southern, John Ellingson, Jim Campbell, Gary Litteer, and Larry Pratt. We discussed the 2011 budget. We started 2011 with $4410 and finished the year with $4946.
The expected expenses for 2012 were discussed. Because a number of the CVARS name tags were not picked up by their owners, Jim Campbell moved and Gary Litteer seconded, that we continue to offer one year free CVARS membership to newly licensed Technician hams, but charge a nominal fee for a name tag. The motion was passed unaminously.
The board meeting was closed at 7:17 PM.
James called the general meeting to order at 7:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance sheets and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheet were passed around.
Announcements started with a review of the 2012 calendar, which can be viewed on the cvars.org web site home page, highlighting events in February and March.
Dick Morrison presented the program on being prepared for emergencies, with an excellent dialog with the audience. Topics included communications, food, water, heat, electricity and Go Packs. See:
http://lewiscountywa.gov/emergency-preparedness
for additional information on Preparing Your Home for Disasters, Preparing Your Family for Disasters, and Preparing a 72 Hour Emergency Kit, among other related topics.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:48 PM. There were 23 people attending.

PRESIDENT'S CORNER
What a great program Dick Morrison presented on Emergency Preparedness. And what a great discussion ensued because of what Dick said and showed. Thank you, Dick, for the presentation and thank you Barbara for inviting Dick to talk about a topic dear to his heart. I am looking forward to March’s program!
