October 3, 2018 BOARD MEETING NOTES
MEMBERS PRESENT:
Eugene O'Neill, Jerry Randall, Paul Van Dyck, John Ellingson, and Kevin Rasku.

CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order by the President at 18:30.

FINANCIAL REPORT:
Bill submitted the following account summaries:
CVARS Account Balance:              $5,982.66
BAW FAW Account Balance:        $1,467.52

REPEATER REPORT:
1. Baw Faw: Eugene and Mike Payne recently went to the site to check the AC power to the repeater. There is an "SO" cord that will be replaced and an extra circuit breaker box that can be removed.
2. CVARS (Penning Hill) is working well. Future work consists of replacing a power cord and programming voice messages.

ADDITIONAL BUSINESS:
1. James Van Ornum reminded the board that the CVARS.ORG web site is hosted on Simply Hosting. The site renewal of $49.80 is due on November 24, 2018. The cvars.org domain name renewal of $12.95 is due on November 29, 2018. The bawfaw.org domain name will need to be renewed by May 20, 2019.
2. James reported that he has put information about the Christmas Pot Luck dinner on the CVARS.ORG web site. Missing is information about a gift exchange, if we are doing that again this year, and who is coordinating what dishes people are bring, so that not everyone brings salads.
3. John reported meeting with Ron Hill, W7NN, and learning of Ron's contesting techniques. John suggested we consider having a contesting station as one of the positions at next year's Field Day. Eugene said he would try to have Ron present his approach at a CVARS meeting. Chuck Verdon said he would coordinate preparation for the 2019 Field Day.
4. Paul shared an experience with Castler Rock High School students and faculty. They have an interest in Amateur Radio. How can we reach out to them?

October 3, 2018 PROGRAM NOTES
The October 3, 2018 general meeting was called to order by Eugene at 7:30 PM with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag followed by people introducing themselves. The attendance signin and CVARS Sunday 8PM Net Controller sheets were passed around.

The October and November calendars, which are available at http://cvars.org/, were presented.

Bill Harwell said the November 21 Lewis County ARES meeting has been cancelled because of Thanksgiving Day.

Dick Morrison announced that there will be a Technician class held at the same time as the General class, 5 Tuesdays starting October 9 at the LDS Church on Jackson Highway,

The following board nomination were accepted from the floor:
— President for 2019: Cheryl Freeze, NW7Z, and Bill Harwell, AC7SR.
— Vice-President for 2019: Chuck Verdon, W5KAV.
— Secretary for 2019: Paul Van Dyck, K7VWH.
— At Large for 2019-2020: John Ellingson, K7OSK.

The meeting adjourned at 8:33 PM. There were 24 people registering their attendance on the attendance sheet.
